KATRINA

I'm an Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Officer in Artefact's Country and Culture team helping with community engagement and consultation on behalf of our clients.

A key part of my role is preparing Connecting with Country reports where I work closely with Local Aboriginal Land Councils, stakeholders and Traditional Owners to understand their points of view and community aspirations.

I also conduct field surveys and site visits and seek to understand the landscape’s natural and cultural features in partnership with Registered Aboriginal Parties (RAPs).

ABOUT

KATRINA

After graduating from high school I have been on many archaeological excavations identifying Aboriginal artefacts, attending site meetings and participating in cultural workshops as a Registered Aboriginal Party (RAP).

I've been passionate about heritage and history since my Aboriginal Studies classes in school and I’m looking forward to expanding my knowledge as well as helping my community and above all make my family and friends proud.

MY ARTEFACT

My artefact is a small collection of shells from my favourite beach in La Perouse in Sydney.

I visit the beach often with family and friends and these shells serve as a reminder of the great people I’m surrounded by and the many great memories I have.
