HISTORICAL HERITAGE
As highly experienced project leaders, Artefact has been lead consultant on many major projects. Our planning and management systems ensure that projects are completed in a timely, professional manner, working in partnership with our clients.
Since 2010 Artefact is proud to have worked on a diverse range of large and small-scale infrastructure and development projects.
During this time we have built-up extensive experience in a variety of sectors including rail, roads, power and renewables, health, greenfields development and urban renewal.
Some of the more well-known projects we've been involved with include: Central Station Metro; Parramatta Light Rail; Sydney Metro City & Southwest; Wickham Transport Interchange; Northern Beaches Hospital; St Vincent’s Private Hospital; Concord Forensic Mental Health Unit; Sydney Harbour Bridge; The Northern Road Stages 1 & 2; Berry to Bomaderry Upgrade (Princes Highway); West Wyalong Solar Farm; and Wind Farm and Transmission Line projects in the Pilbara and Western NSW.

PART TIME (4 days a week)
As part of the Heritage Interpretation & Public Art Team at Artefact you will provide high quality and creative heritage interpretation and public art solutions and advice for a range of projects. These include large scale infrastructure projects to urban and greenfields developments, for government, corporate and community clients.
This creative and project focused role produces Heritage Interpretation Strategies, Heritage Interpretation Plans, Public Art Strategies, manages artist engagement and artwork concept development, interpretive material content and provides professional and creative heritage interpretation & public art advice to a range of clients.
Specifically, this role will project manage a range of interpretation and public art projects, including writing proposals, undertaking research, writing histories, developing interpretive concepts/solutions, writing reports/reviewing drafts, managing project budgets, managing client liaison, consulting with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal stakeholders, supervising the work of HCs on projects, and working closely with the Team Leader and the team to develop innovative and appropriate interpretive solutions for projects.

Degree in museum studies, curation, heritage, arts administration, cultural heritage or similar discipline
Minimum 5 years’ experience in the museums, visual arts or heritage sector such as heritage consultancies, museums, galleries, local councils, historic houses, parks or equivalent public realm
Experience in managing heritage and/ or visual arts projects such as exhibitions, heritage interpretation projects, public art outcomes and producing high quality reports
Understanding of the key principles and purposes of heritage interpretation and/ or public art
Excellent project and budget management skills
Excellent communication skills
Experience in stakeholder management and community consultation, particularly with Aboriginal stakeholders
Exceptional writing skills for professional reports and public interpretation material
Excellent research skills
A positive and creative approach to problem solving
Effective time management and ability to manage complex projects and meet competing priorities
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Clear communication skills and a collaborative, proactive attitude
As a Senior Heritage Consultant – Interpretation & Public Art your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Work within the Heritage Interpretation & Public Art Team
Deliver high-quality and creative interpretive and public art solutions across a range of projects, from large-scale infrastructure to small urban developments, for government and corporate clients
Produce Heritage Interpretation Strategies and Plans
Develop Public Art Strategies and Plans
Manage artist engagement and artwork concept development
Create content for interpretive materials
You will also have to opportunity to project manage a range of interpretation and public art projects, including:
Writing proposals
Undertaking research
Developing interpretive concepts and solutions
Writing reports and reviewing drafts
Managing project budgets
Managing client liaison
Consulting with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal stakeholders
Working with designers and production companies on the design and production of interpretive elements for projects
Supervising the work of Heritage Consultants on projects
Working closely with the Team Leader and team to deliver innovative, appropriate interpretive and public art solutions

FULL TIME
As Bid Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the preparation, review, and submission of high-quality proposals, tenders, and expressions of interest. You’ll work closely with our Managing Director, Project Team Leaders, and consulting staff to ensure proposals are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.
Your work will include:
Managing tender timelines and coordinating input from technical, marketing, and finance teams
Editing, formatting, and producing proposal documents to a high professional standard
Administering document control, branding, and version management systems
Maintaining master libraries and proposal data in our project management system (Total Synergy)
Conducting background research and supporting continual improvement in bid processes
Assisting with business development and administrative coordination where needed
You’ll be central to ensuring the quality and consistency of Artefact’s professional submissions, helping our teams deliver their best work to clients.
You’re organised, detail-oriented, and thrive on managing multiple deadlines. You care about quality, enjoy bringing order to complex information, and can guide diverse contributors to a polished, professional result.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
Proven experience in bid coordination, tender or proposal management, or similar
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent editing and grammar
Exceptional attention to detail and advanced document management skills
Proficiency across Microsoft Office and document control systems
The ability to work collaboratively and effectively under pressure
Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
