GINGER-ROSE

HERITAGE CONSULTANT

I am a dedicated heritage consultant with experience managing both Aboriginal and historical cultural heritage across NSW and Victoria. I bring extensive experience in fieldwork, archaeological assessments, stakeholder consultation, and project delivery, with a proven track record in both government and private sectors. I've been involved in everything from fieldwork and archaeological assessments to stakeholder engagement and project delivery, across both government and private sectors. I’m passionate about integrating physical and intangible remains of the past into future urban landscapes, and approach every project with cultural sensitivity, technical rigor, and a commitment to community-led heritage management.

ABOUT

GINGER-ROSE

Inspired by Evelyn O’Connell from The Mummy, I dedicated my early career to Ancient Egyptian material culture and languages. After completing an Ancient History degree in 2020, I taught hieroglyphs and ancient world gender studies at Macquarie University. Seeking deeper knowledge of the archaeological landscape in which I was born, I took up trowel in 2022 and haven’t turned back! Over the years, I’ve since gained expertise managing historical and Aboriginal cultural heritage resources across both NSW and Victoria.

MY ARTEFACT

Line dancing has a beautiful queer history and is my favourite example of the way our community adapts and reclaims historically exclusionary cultural forms. My vintage bolo tie accompanies me to the dancefloor every time I go boot scooting and reminds me that I hold the power to transform any space into one for inclusion, visibility, and joy.
